Contribution & Mutual-Aid Assessment Policy
1. Mutual-Aid Contribution Structure
Funeral Share USA operates on a per-case shared cost model. When an approved death occurs among registered members, an assessment (standard baseline: $25.00) is requested from active participating households.
2. Maximum Assessment Caps
To ensure contributions remain affordable for all community households, no single case assessment shall exceed $50.00, regardless of the overall funeral cost.
3. Hardship Waivers & Sadaqah Support
If a member experiences unforeseen financial distress (e.g., job loss, medical emergency), they may apply confidentially for an assessment waiver. The shortfall will be absorbed through designated community reserve funds.
4. Delinquency & Suspensions
Assessments are due within 14 days of issuance. Members with outstanding balances exceeding 60 days without an approved waiver will be moved to SUSPENDED status and will forfeit assistance benefits until arrears are settled.
